The average student graduating this fall from college will pay $27,749 more than they did in 2017, according to a new analysis by The College Board.
For undergraduates, that jump in tuition will average $21,639.
In addition, for the first time ever, the average college graduate will pay more than $24,500 more in tuition, room and board, books and other college expenses than they do in 2018.
This year, the cost of attending a four-year public college or university will be $25,074, up $5,000 from last year.
The College Board has released its annual list of the nation’s best colleges, which is the largest and most comprehensive list of private schools that is publicly available.
It also includes financial aid that can be used to help students pay for college, and the financial stability of the colleges.
