The movie studio behind “Cash for Clooney” is reteaming with the actor’s daughter to release a sequel in 2017.
The movie, titled “Cash For Clooney 2,” will be directed by John Crowley and starring Chris Pratt, who is set to star opposite the actor in the sequel.
It is a co-production between Warner Bros. and the Seth Rogen-owned production company New Regency.
“Cash is Back” follows the story of former FBI agent James “Cash” Brennan, who was involved in a high-profile corruption scandal in the 1990s and 2000s.
Brennan’s daughter, actress Ashley Crowley, will also be a producer on the film.
“I’ve always had a lot of respect for James Brennan, and he’s one of my favorite actors in the world, and it just felt right to reunite with him,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
“He’s been my father all my life.
He was always my role model.
We’re very grateful for that.”
The two companies have also teamed up on a television series, “Cash Wars,” which will air on the network in 2017 on Fox.
“When you have the chance to make something that you feel like people are going to want to see, it’s very exciting,” Crowley said.
“It’s not only about making money, but it’s also about making people care about something.”
Crowley also said she hopes the film will be an opportunity for younger audiences to see what the former FBI boss had to go through.
“James Brennan is a man of integrity, who went through so much, but he is also a man who is in a good place, and that’s where I want to show my generation that if you do something good, you will be rewarded.”
